Famille Verte Hexagonal Hors d' Oeuvre Set, enamel on biscuit porcelain, Chinese, Kangxi period (late 17th/ early 18th century).

This is an exceptional example of unglazed enamel decorated porcelain, which can be found most frequently in Kangxi period figures. Many vessels with this decoration are referred to as "egg and spinach" for the pale yellow and vivid green enamel. The three colors found in this example are yellow, green and a manganese purple. The central dish is decorated with a horse, which makes it a particularly striking piece. More often these pieces are found in incomplete sets, and with floral decoration.

The set is in excellent condition, with one gently restored hairline crack to a small dish.

9 3/4" diameter including tray.
