Pair of Orb form Ginger Jars, famille rose, Chinese, early 20th century, c. 1900.
The pair share the same traditional depiction of scholars in a garden, each a mirror image. The enamel is exceptionally well detailed for the period. The figures are intricately detailed and expressive as one might find in earlier work. The pair is in good condition with one lid restored (see detail photo). 5 1/2" height. |
