Large Rose Medallion Reticulated Platter, Chinese, early 19th century.
This is a beautiful example of exported Chinese famille rose porcelain from the early years of the ‘Rose Medallion’ pattern. The reticulated edged are also found in baskets and large plates in earlier famille rose patterns and in the popular ‘fitzhugh.’ Notice the exceptional details in the figures not found in later rose medallion examples. Minor rim fritting, but otherwise good condition. 11” length, 9 ½” width. |
